The spring season means different things to many people. Warmer temperatures, the advent of outdoor sporting events, and for those of us selling security products, an uptick in sales as construction projects in many parts of the world begin again in earnest.
For many of us at Tyco Security Products, spring also means the launch of the Trade Show Season. The global nature of our business means we attend numerous major industry events within a short period of time to take advantage of the opportunities to personally meet with, talk to and support our customers.
In one week alone in April, Tyco Security Products’ innovators and product developers actively participated in shows in São Paulo for ISC Brasil, in Mexico City for Expo Seguridad Mexico and for Securex in Poznań, Poland, along with ASIS NY, Retail Industry Leaders Association, and CANASA East events. This represented a presence that traversed five countries and as many languages. This gave us the chance to speak with customers about the latest in technology from our entire eight-brand strong product portfolio.
Those five days in late April were certainly eventful. That flurry of activity on the Tyco Security Products calendar was sandwiched between the highly successful ISC West 2012 that wrapped up in late March in Las Vegas, the recent Secutech show in China, and last week’s Safe And Secure Pakistan in Karachi. Yet another opportunity to gather valuable feedback on our solutions from security practitioners is occurring right now at IFSEC International, which runs this week in Birmingham, U.K.
Why are we at all of these events? Because we find that actively engaging with our customers at many different levels at industry events is more important than ever as Tyco Security Products continues to support our customers’ expansions, both geographically as well as in technical expertise. With the recent additions of the Visonic and Elpas brands to our company, Tyco Security Products can now better support its customers in Europe and in the Middle East, where both brands originated. Additionally, our operations in China and India have also blossomed and continue to be areas where we support our customer’s significant growth.
There’s no doubt this is a busy time of the year for us, but we’re excited about the opportunities these trade shows present, not only for us but for our global network of dealers and systems integrators. So if you see us at the next trade show you attend, drop by and say hello - and ask us where we’re going next! And more importantly, don’t forget to tell us what we can do for you next.
What are your most important reasons to attend a trade show? As mentioned earlier, it’s important for to us to hear from you, so share your thoughts by leaving a comment below.
For many, a tradeshow presents a chance to learn about the latest and greatest products and the ability to see these products up close to touch and test them. For more than 40 years, the ISC West International Security Conference & Exposition has served as the meeting place for security industry professionals, whether they are looking to attend an educational seminar, to meet with old friends, or to identify the newest security technologies.
While the value of ISC West has changed little since its first inception, the show has continued to grow in importance over the years and this year was no exception. Even though official attendance numbers have yet to be released by show producer Reed Expo, numerous security industry editors have already billed this year’s ISC West as one of the best attended shows on record.
Beyond record breaking booth traffic, for Tyco Security Products, this year’s ISC West marked an important milestone in our company’s growth - the inclusion of the Visonic brand of intrusion products under the Tyco Security Products’ banner for the first time. We’re excited about this new addition, which will strengthen the company’s leadership position in the wireless security market through the integration of Visonic PowerG and Power technology into our organization.
In addition to Visonic making its debut as part of our global product portfolio, we also introduced the Elpas brand of Real Time Location Systems which was shown at ISC West as a standalone location tracking system, and also integrated with Software House access control systems.
Tyco Security Products also introduced two new products at ISC West designed to add interactive and mobile functionality to two of our venerable brands. The PowerSeries TouchScreen keypad for the PowerSeries control panels marks the introduction of a digital keypad with a menu that can be custom configured to meet the user’s unique needs. Kantech Helm, a mobile app for the EntraPass security management software, allows EntraPass and hattrix users to interact with the system using a variety of mobile devices, such as an iPhone, iPad, Android powered tablet, and Android powered phone.
We’re proud of our introductions at ISC West and the new solutions, products, and brands that we are bringing to the Tyco Security Products community. If you had a chance to visit our booth at ISC West, let us know what you thought in the comments area below. If you were unable to attend or stop by our booth, what would you have liked to learn from us in our booth?
